If more people took personal responsibility for their actions, this wouldn't be a problem. If enough people refused to shop at Wal-Mart over their business practices, Wal-Mart's bottom line would suffer, and they would be forced to change those practices. I don't know if it's that people don't want to accept responsibility, or if it's that they've been so beaten down by the system that they think they are powerless, but we do have the power to directly shape how businesses are run ourselves. We don't need government intervention - hit 'em where it hurts, in their bank accounts, and that'll be far more effective than any law we could pass.
