Gleen Beck is an avg. American?! That is frightening! Aside from that, I was a Ron Paul supporter during the primaries, but I can't understand how a Doctor could be imply certain reforms (e.g. Health Care) as a 'half democrat compromise' and say these 'reforms' beget 'bankruptcies' in the same sentence. Certainly he must know where most personal bankruptcies derive from?? This utopia of less Gov't/more individual liberties, and affordable everything is as distant as it ever was... I've grown very cynical of the idea and just don't see it, w/o reigning in Corporatism with a heavy studded leash.It's also sad that Libertarianism has become superficially synonymous with these faux-tea parties in Washington and Fox News Pundits. During the Primaries, being a Libertarian meant opposition to these Neo-Con loons, now Entertainment news has made them one-in-the-same.

Ok, Wait....The whole point of this article is to say that people who drive without drivers liscences should have their cars taken away or worst (CRUSHED?!?!) Seriously, Why was so much attention put into that. He got into an accident because he was DRUNK and DRIVING AGGRESSIVELY... DRUNK!!! Taking away and/or crushing a persons car will not just hurt them, it will also hurt the state and the country....Just look at the numbers: 1 out of 5. Think about the consequences.

Reagan in 1975: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is. Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path.
