No, read the interview of the author.This guy who wrote the worm wrote a program to exploit a flaw in the jailbreak. In effect, the jailbreak leaves a back door open on the iPhone. He used the jailbreak backdoor.Apple's programmers wrote programs to remove the jailbreak. And Apple itself warned people repeatedly through many channels not to install the jailbreak. Short of whacking the phones out of people's hands, they did everything they could to prevent this.!

I came here to post that. I went to RPI, and while it's not my first choice, it's fun having the college make national news. Trying to figure out why they said that, I did find that RPI recently opened a satellite school in Hartford ( http://www.ewp.rpi.edu/index.html ), but still... RPI is in Troy.
