McCain was a joke. It does not matter who would have been his VP, he was a terrible candidate who did not deserve to be president and had absolutely no concept of how to run a campaign. I don't think the fact that Obama won had anything to do with Palin or far-right Conservatism. People were tired of the Republican party, not because they were too socially conservative, but because they were not FISCALLY conservative. The reason why people are jumping ship -- both on the Republican and Democratic side -- is that they are beginning to see that neither party has this country's best interest in mind. Instead, they're financially running America into the ground.The social conservative aspect, I believe, is fine, because the nation is as much socially conservative as it is socially liberal -- we are absolutely divided, and that is why you constantly see people rabidly attacking each other on Digg and other related sites. The problem is that Republicans promise small government, but they never deliver. A lot of people on this site are liberal, so they are blinded by their hatred of the Republican party, but the reality is that most people polled believe that the Republicans are going to end up gaining power in 2010, because the Democrats are still wasting money. Social policies, for the most part, are secondary to most Americans. The economy, by and large, is typically the most important consideration to most people, because that is their livelihood. Whether or not gay people marry usually is not going to make or break whether or not someone becomes President.

Android will beat Symbian simply from being a more modern operating system. Symbian's only holding on through momentum just now. I can't see it has any compelling features left that Android hasn't matched or surpassed.?
