I work for a living and bought a Popcorn Hour and Onkyo AV receiver. :-)Bluray playback, Dolby TrueHD, HDMI, all streamed from my QNAP NAS, so low power consumption, no noise. Plug and play.The QNAP is fed by sabnzbd which grabs my nzb's automatically based on rss feeds.Shame working means I dont have time to watch anything :-(
And now, the paddling of the swollen ass.

Eh, I hear ya. Been an open-source enthusiast for more than a decade now, and one thing that frequently stands out to me is how quite a number of websites in the community take good design for granted. "Content is King". True, but if a medium is hard to read or an eyesore, that makes it harder for a reader to efficiently absorb it. Readability matters more than it's given credit for in these instances..
You will never be paid as much your labor is worth to your employer. That's one of capitalism's dirty little secrets.If you ever cost an employer more than you generate for them, you will be fired. Exploiting your labor is as much a part of earning a profit for them as are sales of goods and services.It's just a basic truth.Trading your life and labor for a subsistence wage is a fool's game. I know it's not one guy, but I've always been partial to the Chosin Reservoir campaign of the Korean war. In the coldest winter in Korean history (consistently 20 below,) and outfitted only in rain jackets, the Marine Corps first division was advancing to the Chinese border as quickly as possible. Unknown to the Americans, the entire Chinese 9th army (led by Long March veterans no less) had crossed the Yalu in October. U.S. army resistance dissolved under attack and the marines were surrounded and outnumbered about at roughly 10-1. Despite that, they managed to fight their way out and through the casualties they inflicted managed to keep the 9th army from dramatically altering the outcome of the war. |
